AZPOA.ORG is both honored and humbled to add Councilwoman Klapp to our esteemed Board of Advisors. Councilwoman Klapp was a Scottsdale City Councilwoman from 2009-2021 and was a solid supporter of public safety throughout her 12-year term. She voted in favor of many police issues surrounding pay, benefits, staffing levels, overall police department performance and budgeting, and recognition. She vocally backed the SPD and its actions when looting and vandalism occurred in downtown Scottsdale in 2020.

Klapp also served on the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Domestic Violence Task Force and promoted the Scottsdale Family Advocacy Center which is a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary approach to investing person’s crimes and assisting the victims and their families during these horrific crimes. She was invited by the Scottsdale police department to observe first-hand an undercover operation in a hotel, in coordination with Mesa PD, to identify victims of sex trafficking who are trapped in the sex trade, offer them safe haven and separate them from their pimps. To increase awareness, she spoke about the dangers and worked on solutions to sex trafficking of children and adolescents at a national meeting of municipal elected officials.

Needless to say, Councilwoman Klapp knows and has shown how to support Law Enforcement and create a positive and profound partnership between Law Enforcement and the communities they serve.

WELCOME ABOARD COUNCILWOMAN KLAPP!

WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE YOU PART OF THE AZPOA.ORG TEAM!
